This year I decided I wanted to do something fun for the kids for Halloween. Tessa and Tara wanted in on the fun too so we planned a party for the little people. ;0) JT is getting a little old for all this but he was a huge help with the games and was great with the kids.
We had games, prizes, food and just lots of fun. All the kids looked precious and I think everyone had a great time. We had a great turn out and hope that this can be an annual thing from now on. I took tons of pics and they are all on my facebook but here are a few. Thanks to all that came and made this party a huge success. Great memories were made.

2011 Race for a Cure 10k
This year at the race for the cure I decided to do the 10k. It was a lot harder than I was expecting. It wasnt that I hadnt run that far before but the course was 90% up hill. From slight inclines to one killer steep hill. Im glad I did it and ended up placing 3rd in my age group. There were hundreds of people in the race so that was a huge accomplishment for me. Next race, Nov. 5th, another 10k. Praying for less hills. :0)

A little behind......
I have been meaning to blog for days now but just cant seem to find the time. Where to start?? Ok, last weekend Paige got married and it was a beautiful, sweet wedding. I wish them nothing but years of happiness.
Last Sunday I started 3 projects. One was to replace fan on back porch, strip and restain deck and start staining cabinets in my house. All but the cabinets got done. Boy, the staining of the cabinets is a lot more work than I was hoping. I am almost complete with the bathroom and started on some things in the kitchen. Hoping to have bathroom and part of kitchen done this week. Ill post pics when Im finished.
This past week was Homecoming week at school. Here are a few pics from the week.
On Wednesday I had to take the Dean girls to their dad at the bball gym so of course they talked me into stopping at the pumpkin patch on the way there "just to look". They loved it.
We are beyond proud of what a great kid JT has turned into. He loves school, loves to read (not what I would have ever imagined after endless nights of tears a few years back and hating to read), he is just like Craig where he's never met a stranger and is loved by all. He brought home his report card yesterday and he had straight A's. Today at an awards assembly he was awarded Citizenship award for his team. I couldnt have been prouder! We love you Jonesy and are SO proud of what an awesome young man you are becoming!
Tomorrow I am running in the Cancer Support house race. It was a big, great race last year. Last year I did the 5k. This year I am doing the 10k. Praying for not too many hills ;0). I have run many 5k races and a half marathon but havent ever tackled a 10k so I am really looking foward to it.
Ok, Im sure I have forgotten something but obviously Im just a "little" behind after looking at all this.
Favorite quote I read this week: "When life gives you more than you can stand, KNEEL".

Cross Country and Soccer
I am so proud of JT and the progress he has made since joining cross country. He really seems to enjoy running and takes pride in his accomplishments hes making in it. Yesterday they had their only meet the 6th grade was having this year. There were 31 boys that raced and he came in 16th. Within only seconds from 10-15th. I hope he keeps it up!!
Pate had soccer yesterday and they WON their first game 1-0. She is getting to be more aggessive. She is very good at running and kicking the ball in practice and behind the bench while the game is going on but when she gets out there on the field she just follows someone on her team and is SO passive. She does her nervous hair twirl if the ball even comes close. Oh well, maybe by the end of the season she'll come around. Its funny how shy she is in front of people when really she is SO not that way. The people that know her best can vouch to that.
JT finally had his end of the season baseball party today! I know, a little late but better late then never. It was great to see everyone again. They swam and played and had a great time.
Tomorrow is a day off from school and Tara and I are headed to Tulsa for the day. Really looking forward to that. We never get away without the kids.
Here are a some pics from the weekend.
Favorites quotes for the week. (actually two quotes): "being nice to people you arent a big fan of isnt being fake. Its called growing up!"
"People ask why I run. I say "if you have to ask, you will never understand". It is something only those select few know. Those who put themselves through pain, but deap down know how good it feels".

Girls night, running, weekend and air show.....
This last week was once again jam packed. I did manage to squeeze a girls night in there which was much needed and SO much fun. I love how much fun we always have and the nonstop laughs. I just wish we could do it more often. JT is still going strong with Cross Country and doing great. He has another race this weekend up at Bell Park. Pate is also doing great with soccer. Her poor little team isnt winning any but they dont care. They are just having fun!!
This weather is a runners dream! I cant get enough of it. This month alone I have 3 races coming up. I am planning on doing a 10k at one of them, maybe two. I am just enjoying this weather as much as I can bc before you know it, it will be COLD. Me and cold just dont go together. I would take sweating any day over being cold.
This weekend we went to the air show and Bret was in town. The kids loved it and the weather was perfect. Sunday afternoon Pate and I took a quick trip to Fay for the day. Retail therapy!! Misson accomplished :0)
The boys are offically in hunting season. We only see Craig about 2 days a week now so I guess that has now been reduced to 1 day. Atleast JT goes with him a majority of the time.
